Scribbles of a Catholic Soul

Explore a personal collection of Catholic quotes and reflections. Discover insights on faith, tradition, and life through the eyes of a Christian soul.

I’ve always loved reading quotes from the saints and other prominent figures in the Catholic Church just as much as I love diving into a good Catholic book. Their insights provide such great guidance on how to navigate everything life throws at us with a righteous perspective.

Inspired by them, I’ve felt called to write my own reflections—thoughts that have come to me throughout my spiritual journey as a Catholic and a Marian devotee. My goal is for these to always align with Catholic teaching and tradition, so if anything seems off or inconsistent with the faith, please let me know and I’ll remove it right away. I truly pray that the Holy Spirit guides my pen.

Here are the quotes:

“Remember that Our Lord wept, too. It’s okay to let it out sometimes.”

“Pray for the people who have hurt you as much as you pray for those you have hurt. But most importantly, pray that everyone is guided to realize when they have done wrong, as that is where all healing begins.”

“Be the one who prays when you see your brothers and sisters going astray.”

“Offer your sufferings to the Lord so they aren’t wasted. Use them to help the souls seeking heaven—a mercy we’d surely want for ourselves.”

“Don’t fall into the trap of pride by trusting in yourself; put your trust in God alone.”

“Blessed are the moments that have humbled us, for they reveal the truth: the truth of our own lowliness.”

“The Lord created us to be dependent on Him, so do not hesitate to call upon Him in times of doubt, trouble, or pain.”

“As mere created beings, we are in no position to ask the Lord ‘why?’ Instead, we must trust Him who knows all things and has sacrificed Himself for us. He will never let us down.”

“Strengthen your spirit through the mortification of the body. Let the spirit rule the body, lest the body enslave the soul.”

“Never underestimate grace—left to their own devices, humans can become worse than animals.”

“If you ever want to find the truth, look to the writings of the early Church Fathers and the many miracles within the Catholic Church, like the Marian apparition at Fatima.”
